Double Door Disconnect Enclosure

Application

Ralston's 2000-FM enclosures are designed to accept the following disconnect switches and circuit breakers:

1. Allen Bradley 1494F flange-mounted disconnect switches and bulletin 1494D flange-mounted operators for circuit breakers.

2. Allen Bradley 1494V variable depth flange-mounted disconnect switches and circuit breakers.

3. Cutler Hammer/Westinghouse C361 disconnect switches and operating mechanisms. C371 circuit breakers and operators. SM handle mechanisms and Flex Shaft Operators.

4. General Electric Type STDA flange-mounted variable depth operators for disconnect switches and circuit breakers.

5. Siemens I-T-E Max Flex flange-mounted variable depth cable operators for circuit breakers and MCS disconnect switches.

6. Square D class 9422 variable depth flange-mounted operating mechanisms for circuit breakers and disconnects.

Construction

All 2000-FM enclosures are made from 11ga hot rolled steel and have continuously welded seams ground to a smooth finish. Each enclosure comes complete with heavy duty lifting eye bolts, wall mounting back brackets, body stiffeners, 1/4 20 grounding studs and interior fluorescent light bracket.

The 2000-FM enclosure is equipped with an 11ga removable rear mounting panel mounted on 3/8 collar studs. To aid in panel installation, support brackets are welded to the bottom of the enclosure and the centre post is removable.

(Optional left side mounting panels are only available at the time of ordering the enclosure to facilitate the installation of panel mounting studs.)

Each enclosure has specifically punched holes to facilitate the installation of the required disconnect, thus eliminating the use of Adapter Plates. The base of the enclosure is pre-punched to provide for the option of mounting feet. Oil tight hole plugs are provided to seal these pre-punched holes in the case where mounting feet are not used.

The doors of the 2000-FM are made from 11ga cold rolled steel and are equipped with oil resistant neoprene gasket, 1/4-20 grounding studs, removable print pockets and heavy duty three point padlocking handles. Both doors are hinged on the left with heavy-duty slip hinges allowing for easy removal of doors. The right hand master door is equipped with a screw drive operated defeater, which allows door opening.

The master interlock is mounted on the centre post and prevents the slave door from opening before the master door.

Paint Finish

All enclosures are phosphatized and finished inside and out with ANSI/ASA 61 grey polyester powder coating. Inner back panels are painted with a high gloss white powder coating.

Standards

2000 Series enclosures are built to the requirements of NEMA type 12 specifications for use with industrial control equipment in ordinary locations, and type 13 for an oil and dust tight enclosure.

2000 Series enclosures are CSA certified (File #LR 1174410) and UL 508 listed (File #E136838) as a type 12 enclosure.

Special Orders

Custom units made from stainless steel or with special finishes, sizes or punching can be supplied on order.
