Single Door Disconnect Enclosure
For use with: Allen Bradley 1494U, Square D 9422, Cutler Hammer C361 & C371, General Electric Type TDA, I-T-E Max-Flex, Westinghouse Type AMT, ABB Variable Depth.
NOTE: When using Allen Bradley Bulletin 1494U disconnects, use Allen Bradley Bulletin 1494U-L1 for 2-point door hardware. Use Allen Bradley Bulletin 1494U-L1 and 1494U-L2 for 3-point door hardware.
Application
Ralston’s N12-SQD Series enclosures are designed to house:
1. Square D 9422 disconnect switches with flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms and 9422 flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms for circuit breakers. NOTE: These enclosures will not accept Square D 9422 bracket mounted disconnects.
2. Allen Bradley 1494U disconnect switches with flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms and 1494U flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms for circuit breakers. NOTE: These enclosures will not accept 1494F disconnects or 1494D circuit breaker operators.
3. Cutler-Hammer C361 flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms with disconnect switches and C371 flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms for circuit breakers.
4. General Electric TDA flange handles and variable depth operating mechanisms for disconnect switches and circuit breakers.
5. ITE Max-Flex flange-mounted variable depth operating handle for disconnects and circuit breakers as well as some fixed depth operators.
6. Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) flange-mounted variable depth operating mechanisms for disconnect switches and circuit breakers.
7. Westinghouse AMT operating mechanisms for disconnect switches and circuit breakers.
Construction
All N12-SQD enclosures are made from 14 ga. hot rolled steel and have continuously welded seams, ground to a smooth finish.
The N12-SQD enclosure has a folded lip around the door opening to provide complete and maximum gasket contact and to prevent liquids from dripping into the enclosure when the door is open. Each enclosure comes complete with a removable 12 ga. back panel mounted on 3/8 collar studs and four wall mounting back brackets. These enclosures have specifically punched holes to facilitate the installation of Square D 9422 and Allen Bradley 1494U disconnects and door hardware.
Each enclosure door is easily removed by pulling the pin on the continuous piano hinge and is equipped with oil resistant neoprene gasket. A removable print pocket is standard equipment, as well as 1/4-20 grounding studs. Lock rod guide brackets and door catch brackets are welded to the inside of the door and locking bars are provided with each enclosure.
Enclosures with a “C” dimension of 8" will accept a 30 or 60 amp disconnect switch.
Enclosures with a “C” dimension of 10" will accept a 30, 60, or 100 amp disconnect switch.
Enclosures with a “C” dimension of 12" will accept a 30, 60, 100 or 200 amp disconnect switch.
Enclosures with an “A” dimension of less the 40" will require Square D two point hardware CAT #9423 Type M4 or M9 roller kit.
Enclosures with an “A” dimension of 40" or more will require Square D three point door hardware CAT #9423 Type M4 or M9 and one Type M3 roller kit.
PLEASE NOTE: DISCONNECTS, OPERATING MECHANISMS AND DOOR HARDWARE ARE NOT SUPPLIED WITH ENCLOSURE.
Paint Finish
All enclosures are phosphatized and finished inside and out with ANSI/ASA 61 grey polyester powder coating. Inner back panels are painted with high gloss white powder coating.
Standards
N12-SQD enclosures are built to the requirements of NEMA Type 12 specifications for use with industrial control equipment in ordinary locations, and type 13 for an oil and dust tight enclosure.
N12-SQD enclosures are CSA Certified (file #1174410) and UL 508 Listed (file #E136838) as a Type 12 enclosure.
Special Orders
Custom units made from stainless steel or with special finishes, sizes or punching can be supplied on order.
