Oil and Dust Tight Double Door Enclosure
Application
N12 Double Door enclosures are designed to provide protection against dust, dirt, and oil for such items as: electronic and electrical controls, instrumentation systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, and machine tool controls.
Construction
N12 Double Door enclosures are made from 12 ga. steel. All enclosures have continuously welded seams ground to a smooth finish. Each enclosure is equipped with two 5/8 eye bolts, complete with solid rubber seals, and reinforcing support angles welded to the top of the enclosure. Two 1/4-20 grounding studs are installed as well as four or six wall mounting back brackets, body stiffeners, and one full length back panel.
The removable 11 or 12 ga. back panel is mounted on six or eight 3/8 collar studs and two support brackets are welded to the bottom of the enclosure to aid in panel installation.
The base is pre-punched to provide for the option of mounting feet. Hole plugs are provided to seal these pre-punched holes in the case where mounting feet are not used.
The overlapping doors are also made from hot rolled steel and are equipped with oil resistant neoprene gasket, 1/4-20 grounding studs, removable print pocket, keyed locking handle with roller mechanism and continuous piano hinges.
Paint Finish
All enclosures are phosphatized and finished inside and out with ANSI/ASA 61 grey polyester powder coating. Inner back panels are painted with high gloss white powder coating.
Standards
N12-DD enclosures are built to the requirements of NEMA type 12 specifications for use with industrial control equipment in ordinary locations, and type 13 for an oil and dust tight enclosure.
Special Orders
Custom units made from stainless steel or with special finishes, sizes or punching can be supplied on order.
N12-DD enclosures are CSA certified (File #LR 23608) and UL 508 listed (File #E136838) as a type 12 enclosure.
