Application
Ralston’s UDP Series was especially developed for housing electrical and/or electronic apparatus in all their applications, where because of corrosion, polyester enclosures offer greater advantages than the traditional sheet steel types.
Especially recommended for installation in all environments, indoors and outdoors in which dust, humidity, presence of acids, extreme conditions such as snow, ice, tropical climate, etc., make the use of polyester more advantageous. Tests in a moderated climate have shown that the UDP is resistant against outdoor use and aggressive chemical environments for at least 20 years without loosing features.
The UDP permits the construction of many configurations, from pain door to window door, a single or double door, or multi-compartment switchboard. The UDP Series is ideally suited for offshore and coastal areas, petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities and food processing industries.
Construction
All UDP series enclosures are molded from 3mm thick self-extinguishing halogen free fiberglass reinforced polyester. windows are polycarbonate. Features include smooth interior and exterior surfaces, hidden hinges, stainless wall mounting brackets, and a variety of accessories. Doors are flush mounted with a 100° opening. The three point (five for larger enclosures) door locking system with swing handle, and one-piece polyurethane gasket ensures an optimum seal when the door is closed. Larger doors come complete with a door lifter to ensure an easy closing. UDP enclosures can be joined to achieve larger configurations.
Finish
All enclosures and non-metallic interior mounting panels are RAL7035 light grey. Metal back panels are galvanized.
International Standards
UDP enclosures are built to the requirements of NEMA Type 12 specifications for use with industrial controls in ordinary locations, type 13 for an oil and dust tight enclosure, and type 4,4X as a water tight corrosion resistant enclosure.
